Middle School needs most work R-1 construction deadline passes

By PAT PRATT Staff Writer With the deadline for construction at the new Poplar Bluff high and middle schools passing on Friday, school officials have outlined remaining projects at those and other campuses. Poplar Bluff High School is completely functional at this time and most remaining work there consists of painting and finish work, landscaping and work on the tennis courts. Fire union starts kid coat drive

By MICHELLE FRIEDRICH Associate Editor Members of the local fire union are asking the public to open their wallets as they continue to raise money to purchase warm coats for Poplar Bluff, Mo., elementary students in need of one for winter. With a goal of buying 100 coats, the International Association of Fire Fighters Local No. 2543 is trying to raise $3,400 to make its goal a reality.
