Fire reports — Oct. 18

City firefighters responded at 7:55 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, to a report of an unauthorized burn at the 1215 Grand Ave. home owned by Timothy Haygood. Upon their arrival, firefighters found the occupant burning leaves and trash. They used 20 gallons of water to extinguish the fire and notified the occupant of the city’s burn ordinance.

Fire reports — Oct. 19

City firefighters responded at 10:13 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, to a report of an unauthorized burn at the intersection of Harper and Mary Street. According to the report, the lot was listed as vacant, but firefighters found a group of people having a bonfire. They explained it was an unauthorized burn before extinguishing the fire with approximately 10 gallons of water and clearing the scene.

Butler County Sheriff Briannon Lee Miller, 25, of the 5000 block of Nellie Sue Circle reported at 4:26 p.m Friday, Oct. 17 that it appeared as though her residence had been entered. According to the report, Miller left the residence to pick up her child from the bus stop, but when she returned the door was open and there was a wrench on the step. She did not report anything missing...
