City firefighters responded at 9:03 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, to a report of a possible tree fire at 1215 Grand Ave. residence occupied by Ronnie Rutledge. According to the report, a Poplar Bluff police officer arrived on scene and discovered a trash fire had set a tree on fire. They preceded him in death. Brandon was a retired businessman and teacher in Poplar Bluff.
