Help needed to send PBHS band to Disney parade

The Poplar Bluff High School SHO-ME Band will march in the 50th Anniversary Disney Parade in March and the local community is asked to help students create memories during the Florida trip. “We are looking for people to sponsor kids,” said SHO-ME Band booster and fundraising chairman Anna Robertson. “Whether it’s a full donation or sponsorship of the $1,000 fee that it’s going to cost each of the kids to go to Disney, or even a partial donation, that would be wonderful.”...

Each of Poplar Bluff’s lower elementary buildings have been named ‘Best Elementary Schools’ by U.S. News & World Report, with three R-I campuses placing among the top 15 schools in Missouri. Accident stops traffic on Highway 160

First responders were called prior to 1 p.m. to a multivehicle accident on Highway 160, about half a mile east of Route M. Staff from The Prospect-News were on site at 1:30 p.m. and found traffic backed up as crews worked on a concrete truck, which was turned over and partially blocking a lane. Main Street library to reopen Monday
