PB R-I schools approve personnel changes

The Poplar Bluff R-I School Board approved 14 resignations, 14 employments and one retirement during the closed session of their June 22 meeting. Approved certified personnel and supplemental duty resignations were Victoria Hadley, teacher at Eugene Field Elementary; Keri Jameson, technology instruction interventionist at Poplar Bluff Junior High; Dale Kennedy, special education teacher at Poplar Bluff Middle School; Tammy Miller, librarian at Oak Grove Elementary; Michael Sowatzke, assistant robotics coach (extra duty only) and assistant girls tennis coach (extra duty only) at Poplar Bluff High School; Kyler Sowell, assistant girls swim coach (extra duty only) at PBHS; Britney Stahl, guidance counselor at PBMS; and Erica Vaughn, agriculture education teacher and FFA sponsor at PBHS, head trap shooting coach at PBHS and PBJH.. ...

Fire destroys Puxico building

The Missouri State Fire Marshal is investigating a large early Monday morning fire at the former Morgan Sifford Funeral Home in Puxico, said town Marshal Rick Sheren.
