100 years agoSept. 21, 1923 • Gertrude Stone was released from the Butler County jail today following a preliminary hearing where she is charged with being short in the post office accounts at Briar Creek in Ripley County. Stone was arrested followed an investigation at the Briar Creek post office, which found she was $597 short in her accounts.
