If modern drivers irritate you, remember: they could be worse. Poplar Bluff police reported a spate of accidents in 1924 caused by careless driving, speeding, and unlit headlights. The mayor proposed stop signs to help curtail traffic violations.

The talent of Neelyville School District’s student body was on display Friday morning with a celebration of veterans through pictures, poems, songs, and art projects. The ceremony featured performances from individual students, the Neelyville High School Choir, and faculty.

Leland R. Duncan, 95, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, at his home surrounded by family, due to complications from lymphoma. Leland was born Nov. 9, 1929, on a farm in Van Buren County, Arkansas, to Enoch and Julia (Lane) Duncan. It was the Depression era, and Leland grew up chopping cotton and plowing fields with a team of mules...
