The Butler County Genealogy Society met Thursday, April 25, at the Twin Towers. Attending were 25 members and guests. The guest speaker, Marcia Morse, was introduced by Vice President Paula Allen. She spoke about tombstone cleaning, explaining the four most popular stones used for this purpose were: limestone, which breaks easily; marble, which was used mostly for military stones of the 19th Century; Sandstone, which should never be cleaned; and granite, the most durable and the stone mostly used today. ...
