  • Emergency brings out best in the community (Editorial ~ 11/23/19)
    Last Friday, students, parents and staff of Poplar Bluff High School had a bad scare. A student came forward to report what they believed was a gun magazine in the possession of another student. School officials acted, holding students in their classrooms until members of Poplar Bluff Police Department determined it was safe. Officers responded immediately and were able to determine the items reported were a cigarette lighter and headphones...
  • * Police Reports - Nov. 23 (Police/Fire Report ~ 11/23/19)
    Latoria Genia Goodloe, 35, of the 500 block of Karen Drive, was arrested Friday, Nov. 22, on two failure to appear warrants for driving with no operator’s license and no proof of auto insurance. She was booked into the Butler County jail. Her bond is $182 and $225.
