POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT City firefighters responded at 11:25 a.m. Monday, March 29, to a report of a structure fire at 711 South Ninth Street. According to the report, firefighters observed light smoke coming from the crawl space at the front of the house. Upon investigation, they discovered a small fire where the porch connected to the house, believed to be caused by a cigarette. They extinguished fire using two gallons of water, deployed fans to clear smoke and cleared the scene...
