Crash, downed power lines kill Stoddard County man

DEXTER – A 57-year-old Dexter man died Sunday night after striking a utility pole in Stoddard County. According to Stoddard County Coroner Brent Stidham, Vallie Griffin was driving on County Road 637, also known as Three Mile Road, when he ran off the roadway and struck a utility pole around 9:05 p.m. Griffin then exited the vehicle and was fatally injured after making contact with downed power lines. Holy Cross craft fair is Saturday; guild prepares goodies, food and more

The annual Craft Fair at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross, 420 N. Main St., will be Saturday, Nov. 9. Doors will open at 8 a.m. and close at 2 p.m. Admission is free. Ditch Road building a complete loss in fire, cause under investigation

The Poplar Bluff Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a commercial storage facility at 1928 S. Broadway off of Ditch Road at approximately 11 p.m. Friday night.
