Thanksgiving for a firefighter often means missing the Thanksgiving feast with our families, to work a 24 hour shift at the fire station. We know going into the job, that missing holidays with our families is inevitable due to our schedule.

Boys and Girls Club of the Heartland seeks more staff

The Boys and Girls Club of the Heartland is seeking to hire more staff to accommodate a growing waiting list of 74 youths across area schools. According to Chief Operating Officer Robbie Toth-Cosby, the need for more employees is a positive sign of growth.

Slug Hefner, owner of Hefner’s Furniture in Poplar Bluff, likes to go fast. He likes it so much that his well known boat, the Dirty Duck, has officially set a world record for the fastest piston-driven non-mystic catamaran boat.
