WHAT A class for all ages to make a no-kill bug jar and learn how to collect bugs. You will also learn from experts how to identify the bugs you collect. — Gallery opening and book signing, 6-8 p.m. April 6. WHERE Margaret Harwell Art Museum. COST Free. WHAT See the illustrations and process behind “Twinkle the Star Mouse,” a new children’s book written by E.E. Arrendale and illustrated by Samantha Klotz and Rose Anne Stanard. Meet the author and artists, get a book signed and enjoy refreshments.

— Wolf Creek Trail Run and WTF (Walk The Forest), 8 a.m. April 6 WHERE Wolf Creek Trail WHAT 6K and half marathon begins at 8 a.m., 1.7 mile walk begins at 9:30 a.m.

— Total Eclipse of the Bluff Music Festival, noon-6 p.m. April 6 WHERE Downtown Poplar Bluff WHAT Food trucks, entertainment and more.

— Just Enough concert, 7-11 p.m. April 6. COST Free. WHERE The Camp at Lake Wappapello WHAT Local band Just Enough gives a free concert.

— Night Ranger in concert, 8 p.m. April 6 WHERE Black River Coliseum. COST $20-$90. WHAT The rock band’s hits include “Sister Christian” and “Don’t Tell Me You Love Me.” Tickets available on Ticketmaster.

— Sam A. Baker/Otahki Lake KOA Eclipse Festival, April 7. WHERE Sam A Baker State Park/Otahki Lake KOA. COST $25 day pass. WHAT Star gazing, 5k fun run, beer garden, live entertainment. Event continues into April 8.

— Reception for Total Eclipse of the Arts and the Plein Air Festival, 1-4 p.m. April 7. WHERE Margaret Harwell Art Museum. WHAT Sample refreshments and stunning visual arts.

— Jeff Foxworthy performs, 8 p.m. April 7. WHERE Black River Coliseum. COST Tickets are $20-$90. WHAT Comedian Jeff Foxworthy returns to Poplar Bluff. Tickets available via Ticketmaster.

— As Is concert and glow party, 7-11 p.m. April 7. COST Free. WHERE The Camp at Lake Wappapello. WHAT Free concert and festivities.

— Solar Spring 5K, 7-10 a.m. April 8 WHERE The walk/run starts at PB Realty Downtown and winds through Downtown Poplar Bluff. Medals will be given for male and female contestants in six different age groups, with additional prizes for best dressed.

— 4-H solar eclipse festival, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. April 8 WHERE Poplar Bluff High School. WHAT A family-oriented festival of science, fun and more. Live music will be provided by the band Chains of Mercury, and admission cost will be $5 per person, all proceeds support the local 4-H club.

— Solar eclipse viewing and tailgate, noon WHERE Big Whiskey’s and Fairfield Inn & Suites WHAT Event offers specials and an open view of the sky.

— Total Eclipse of the Arts and Plein Air Festival, starts at 10 a.m. April 8 WHERE Margaret Harwell Art Museum WHAT Enjoy art, food, music and more at MHAM, and find a unique place to watch the total solar eclipse.

— Educational presentations hosted by Three Rivers College, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. April 8 WHERE Tinnin Fine Arts Center WHAT Retired NASA astronaut and Poplar Bluff resident Tom Akers, 10 a.m.; Poplar Bluff native and doctoral candidate in astrophysics Isaac Laseter, 11 a.m.; and Dr. Paul Larson, instructor in physics, noon.

— Viewing party, begins noon April 8. COST Free. WHERE The Camp at Lake Wappapello. WHAT Watch the solar eclipse from The Camp.

— Eclipse Viewing Event, noon-4 p.m. April 8. WHERE Wappapello State Park WHAT During Eclipse viewing, park staff providing activities, St. Louis University onsite to give informal talks, food, drinks and other retail items.

— Chaonia Landing Eclipse Festival, April 8. WHERE Chaonia Landing Parking Lot. WHAT Vendors, food, music, viewing glasses, and a guest astronomy speaker.

— Fellowship General Baptist Church eclipse event, April 8. WHERE 3581 N. Westwood, Poplar Bluff. WHAT Free family event with bounce houses, food, and games

— Eclipse at Keener Springs, April 8. WHERE 3425 Hwy. JJ, Williamsville. COST $20 per person, children 10 and younger are free. WHAT A day at beautiful Keener Spring and Cave with eclipse viewing at one of the most scenic spots in Southeast Missouri.
